I'll be posting here over the next month or so to chronicle my epic journey of self-discovery (a.k.a., a motorbike ride report). If you're wondering about the name, I might stop in Venice, CA (possibly Venice Beach).
The plan:
To ride my motorbike from Toronto, Ontario to somewhere in California and back again. I'll be camping as much as possible, and I'm not taking the most direct route. Instead, I'll be heading southward then westward to try and escape the cold, rainy, April weather.
My trusty steed:
A 2006 Suzuki SV650s, equipped with:
- Nelson-Rigg CL-950 saddle bags
- Rapid Transit Recon 19 magnetic tank bag
- Michelin Pilot Road 2 tires
- 12V accessory outlet for plugging in my stuffz
- A Sargent seat
- One fine looking ass to fill the seat
- Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad
- Mess kit
- Multi-fuel camp stove
- Various camping things
- Rain gear and thermals
- Laptop
- GPS, olde timey maps (made from crushed trees!?)
- DSLR and Point & Shoot cameras
- Ipod & cell phone
- Bike/first-aid/emergency repair stuff
- etc.
